Original tasting and review : This is Pindar Johannisberg Riesling, North Fork, Long Island, New York, 2003, finished at 12.5% alcohol and first sampled a whopping 11 years from vintage date.

In the glass: Deep golden.

On the nose: Poured at cool room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows bright apple along with some pear and butterscotch.  From the aroma, seems like this will be mature and still sweet and bright.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact soft, gentle apple and pear cider in style, with hints of deeper melon and butterscotch.  Friendly and wants to be sipped cold.

In summary: Overall, rates an easy stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.
