Review: ***+ $ Kelso Red Table Wine, Columbia Valley, Washington State, non-vintage = BEST VALUE

Check out today's pricing and retail availability for Kelso Red.

Original tasting and review : This is Kelso Red Table Wine, Columbia Valley, Washington State, non-vintage, finished at 13.7% alcohol.  It is 60% cabernet sauvignon and 40% merlot.

In the glass: Medium/deep dusty red.

On the nose: Poured at room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows bold purple blood red plums with a certain depth that seems to come from some barrel time.  From the aroma, seems like this will be full and deep.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact full of aromatic fruit, showing purple plums, beets and some sweet cinnamon.  After nice hang time, the finish wraps up with some solid fruit and acids tucked into your cheeks.

In summary: Overall, rates three stars with an easy plus on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale, making this a bona fide best value at its bargain price point.
