Original tasting and review : This is Bruna Baroncini Fattoria Querciarossa Fulgente Red Wine, Maremma Toscana, Italy, 2004, finished at 13.5% alcohol and first sampled a full decade from vintage date, in August, 2014.

In the glass: Deep ruby and magenta, opaque from about three-quarters inch from the edge.

On the nose: Poured at cellar temperature and swirled vigorously, shows soft, inky, funky purple fruit.  From the aroma, seems like this will be aged but lively and, perhaps, still bold.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact full of layered fruit, deep plums, with plenty of tannins and acids to lift the fruit up into your palate and cheeks.  It says, "I'll still race you in a marathon!".  The finish is a slow curtain fade to strong applause for the veteran.

In summary: Overall, rates an easy three stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.
