Original tasting and review : This is Muirwood Chardonnay, Arroyo Seco, California, 2012, finished at 13.8% alcohol and first sampled two years from vintage date, in August, 2014.

In the glass: Light yellow golden.

On the nose: Poured at cool room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows soft bright citrus with some butter and a little hint of cleansing pepper.  From the aroma, seems like this will be sweet and bright.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact showing a nice mix of layered, oaky fruit and light dry black pepper that lifts the sip.  Clean, slowly fading finish.

In summary: Overall, rates four stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale. Best value.
