Review: **+ $ Presswork Shiraz, Barossa Valley, Australia, 2011

Check out today's pricing and retail availability for bargain Barossa shiraz.

Original tasting and review : This is Presswork Shiraz, Barossa Valley, Australia, 2011, finished at 13.8% alcohol, aged for 14 months in French oak and first sampled three years from vintage date, in August, 2014.

In the glass: Deep dusty red.

On the nose: Poured at room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows lightly funky, fresh red fruit.  From the aroma, seems like this will be easy-going and full of red fruit.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact a bit more structured and serious on the palate than anticipated, but fresh, gentle and ready-to-drink at a young age.  Not as much "stuffing" as in many Barossa shiraz offerings.

In summary: Overall, rates two stars with a plus on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.
