Original tasting and review : This is Joubert-Tradauw Barrel Fermented Chardonnay, Tradauw, South Africa, 2008, finished at 13% alcohol and first sampled six years from vintage date, in September, 2014.

In the glass: Deep yellow to light gold.

On the nose: Poured at cool room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows soft, light butterscotch.  From the aroma, seems like this may be tired but still carrying fruit.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact much as expected.  Finish shows some bright, light citrus.

In summary: Overall, rates two stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale, with a plus for what it likely was like at an earlier point in its life.
