By way of background, opening thoughts:

Original tasting and review : This is La Mision Reserva Merlot, Maipo Valley, Chile, 2007, finished at 13.9% alcohol and first sampled seven years from vintage date, in September, 2014.

In the glass: Light to medium dusty red.

On the nose: Poured at warm room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows deep, lusty red currant fruit.  From the aroma, seems like this will be spicy and fat.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact relatively light and broad in mouthfeel, but peppery-dry in flavor

In summary: Overall, pleasant enough, but simply rates two stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.
