Original tasting and review : This is Les Barriques Luc Pirlet Cabernet Sauvignon, Pays D'Oc, France, 2012, finished at 13% alcohol and first sampled two years from vintage date, in September, 2014.

In the glass: Ruby red.

On the nose: Poured at room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows fresh, clean red berries.  From the aroma, seems like this will be light, quick and bright.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact sweet feeling, with good depth and intense flavors of violets, combined with subtle hints of milk chocolate.  Fresh, bright tannins wrap up the sip with a brief finish, except for the violet flavors, which linger for a long time.

In summary: Overall, rates a very easy three stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale, making this a best value at its attractive price point.
