Original tasting and review : This is Oak Ridge Ancient Vine Zinfandel, Lodi, California, 2012, finished at 13.95% alcohol and first sampled two years from vintage date, in September, 2014.

In the glass: Deep magenta, opaque from a quarter inch in from the edge.

On the nose: Poured at room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows bright, aromatic fruit and deep bramble oak.  From the aroma, seems like this will be oaky and sweet.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact full, fresh, sweet and lush. Fresh, twiggy oak branches mixed in the flavors.

In summary: Overall, rates three stars with a plus on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.  Good value.
