Original tasting and review : This is La Chardoisie Villebois Sauvignon Blanc, France, 2013, finished at a mere 11.5% alcohol and first sampled one year from vintage date, in November, 2014.  Who has ever heard of a wine with its origin labeled simply "France"?  Well, this is one!

In the glass: Clear with hint of vanilla.

On the nose: Poured at room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows bright grasses with just a hint of funk.  From the aroma, seems like this will be bright and still big for its small alcohol content.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact soft, subtle, sleek, with plenty of soft fruit and aromatic grasses.  Clean, refreshing blend of soft and bright.  Finish is swift but clean.

In summary: Overall, just touches three stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale and that is just enough to rate this a best value at its bargain price point.
