Original tasting and review : This is Mischa Estate Roussanne, Wellington, South Africa, 2011, finished at 14% alcohol and first sampled three years from vintage date, in November, 2014.
In the glass: Solid yellow with honey orange notes.
On the nose: Poured at cool room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows soft, very lightly oxidized creamy crisp fruit. From the aroma, seems like this will be soft, butterscotchy.
On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact thick, rich, layered, with the expected butterscotch elements, light hints of sherry, but a solid white fruit core too. Finish is clean, but finishes over a long wave.
In summary: Overall, two stars with a big plus for potency on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.
