Original tasting and review : This is OZV Zin (Old Zin Vines) Zinfandel, Lodi, California, 2012, finished at 13.95% alcohol and first sampled two years from vintage date, in November, 2014.  This is an offering from Oak Ridge Winery.

In the glass: Deep magenta, opaque from a half inch in.

On the nose: Poured at room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows bright, cedar, beefy black and red fruit.  From the aroma, seems like this will be soft, seductive and bold.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact just as anticipated, with extra layers of furry fatness.  Absolutely fills the palate without overwhelming, bringing gobs of fruit, oak, layers, tannins and a surprising helping of finesse to boot!

In summary: Overall, rates four stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale, making this a crazy best value at its modest price point.
