Original tasting and review : This is Robert Oatley Riesling, Great Southern, Australia, 2010, finished at 12.2% alcohol and first sampled 5 years from vintage date, in January, 2015.

In the glass: Clear with the lightest hints of yellow and vanilla.

On the nose: Poured at cellar temperature and swirled vigorously, shows bright steely grasses, with little spits of honey fruit behind.  From the aroma, seems like this will be spiky bright and acidic, perhaps with some sugar.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact more minerally-slick than anticipated, with cleansing wash of acids.  Shows bright pear fruit. Finish wraps up quickly, but nicely blends softer fruit with bright, perky acids.

In summary: Overall, rates a solid three stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.
