Original tasting and review : This is Cosentino The Novelist Meritage White Wine, California, 2007, a blend of sauvignon blanc and semillion, finished at 14.4% alcohol and first sampled 8 years from vintage date, in February, 2015.  I very much liked the 2005 vintage, which I sampled with 6 years of age.

In the glass: Medium-deep, honeyed yellow.

On the nose: Poured at cool room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows soft hay and some bright grasses.  From the aroma, seems like this will be a blend of both steely and creamy flavors.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact just the kind of balanced notes expected, with soft pears and peaches forming the flavor basis.  Nice brightness with a svelte undertone. Finishes clean with modest length.

In summary: Overall, rates three stars with a big plus on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.  Good value, even after all these years.
