Original tasting and review : This is Tarima Hill Estate Bottled Old Vines (Monastrell), Alicante, Spain, 2012, finished at 15% alcohol and first sampled 3 years from vintage date, in March, 2015.

In the glass: Deep burgundy, opaque in the center.

On the nose: Poured at room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows bright and deep violet flowers.  From the aroma, seems like this will be floral, for sure, but bold too.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact layered with bright purple fruits, plenty of acids that lighten the sip and tannins that ground it.  Both fun and contemplative.  Clean finish that drifts off crisply.

In summary: Overall, rates an easy three plus stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.  Good value.
