Original tasting and review : This is Jack Hammer (Jackhammer) Chardonnay, Central Coast, California, 2013, finished at 14.1% alcohol and first sampled 2 years from vintage date, in April, 2015.

In the glass: Soft yellow with light hints of gold.

On the nose: Poured at room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows subtle sweet grass and bright pear.  From the aroma, seems like this will be light and fruity.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact bigger and fuller in mouthfeel than anticipated, with sweet pears and apricots alongside crisp acids.  The big flavors crawl into your cheeks and let the acids dribble them out over a long finish time, that ends up surprisingly clean and not cloying.  Big, full, fat, friendly and lasting sip.

In summary: Overall, and at room temperature, rates four stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale and is a best value.  When chilled, it loses some potency, and moves to thee plus stars.
