Original tasting and review : This is Peachy Canyon Winery Old School House Cabernet Sauvignon, Paso Robles, Caifornia, 2005, finished at 13.5% alcohol and first sampled one decade from vintage date, in June, 2015.

In the glass:  Medium magenta, opaque only in the center.

On the nose: Poured at cellar temperature and swirled vigorously, shows inky, bold black cherry and violet notes.  From the aroma, seems like this will be full and beefy.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact more classically-styled cabernet, showing wood and slightly tired blackberry fruit.  Wished I had popped it open a few years earlier.  Still plenty of stuffy, though.

In summary: Overall, rates three stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale, with a plus for what it must have been. Good value.
