Original tasting and review : This is Beringer Merlot, California, 2013, finished at 13% alcohol and first sampled 2 years from vintage date, in July, 2015.
In the glass: Medium deep brick red.
On the nose: Poured at room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows light cranberries. From the aroma, seems like this will be bright and tangy, not full of flavor.
On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact more friendly and flavorful than anticipated. Shows a vibrant purple fruit, clean plums muddled with fresh blackberry, with soft, sweet surround sound. Finish is fast but clean.
In summary: Overall, friendly sip touches three stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale, making this a best value at its attractive price point.
