Original tasting and review : This is Black Box Moscato, Mendoza, Argentina, 2011, finished at 13.5% alcohol and first sampled four years from vintage date, in July, 2015.
In the glass: Deep golden color.
On the nose: Poured at room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows deep butterscotch and oil undertones. From the aroma, seems like this will be rich, full, fat and sweet.
On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact sweet butterscotch with the expected oily middle, but some nice bright acids that lift up the sip. The finish is sturdy, brief, but very clean.
In summary: Overall, rates an easy three stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale. It wants to be served cooler than I sampled it and will be very pleasant chilled as well. Best value for sure.
