Original tasting and review : This is bargain-priced Cameron Hughes Riesling / Chenin Blanc, Lot 459, Columbia Valley, Washington 2012, finished at 11.7% alcohol and first sampled 3 years from vintage date, in August, 2015. The blend ratio is 70% riesling and 30% chenin blanc.
In the glass: Clear with light yellow and vanilla highlights.
On the nose: Poured at chilled temperature and swirled vigorously, shows sleek almond fruit. From the aroma, seems like this will be restrained yet rich.
On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact mouth-filling white grape fruit with soft supports of glycerin. Ends with a gluey sweet finish, which, for me, is not a particularly appealing feature.
In summary: Overall, rates three stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale. This is a best value due primarily to the attractive price point.
