Original tasting and review : This is Coastal Passage Pinot Noir, California, 2013, finished at 13.8% alcohol and first sampled 2 years from vintage date, in August, 2015.
Inspired by this wine: She's picking out a necklace for casual dinner, decides on the one with light ruby stones.
In the glass: Ruby red with an orange cast throughout.
On the nose: Poured at room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows bright, red, spicy, Coca-Cola-infused cranberries. From the aroma, seems like this will be bright, spicy, acidic, tangy.
On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact much as anticipated, bringing bold, bright black pepper notes right upfront followed by tight, acerbic red fruit behind it. Finishes big and fast in your cheeks and on the sides of your tongues with its bright acid wash.
In summary: Overall, rates two stars with a plus for its perkiness on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.
