Original tasting and review : This is Lockwood Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc, Monterey, California, 2007, finished at 13.5% alcohol and first sampled 8 years from vintage date, in September, 2015.

Inspired by this wine: Ice-skating on a slightly slushy spring rink, with fresh apples ready for a snack.

In the glass: Very light butterscotch.

On the nose: Poured at room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows hints of stainless steel plus deeper creamy fruit.  From the aroma, seems like this will be layered and perhaps sweet in tone.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact much as anticipated.  Additional apple and pear fruit comes in for quite a few seconds as the sip drips down from your cheeks.  Sweet and acidic all in the right balance.  Nicely composed and tasty at this age.

In summary: Overall, rates an easy three stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.  Best value at a great price point.
