Review: **+ $$ Piccini Chianti Classico Riserva, Tuscany, Italy, 2007

Check out today's pricing and retail availability for Piccini Chianti Classico Riserva.

Original tasting and review : This is Piccini Chianti Classico Riserva, Tuscany, Italy, 2007, finished at 13% alcohol and first sampled 8 years from vintage date, in September, 2015.

Inspired by this wine:  At the garden work bench, snipping dried flowers for a big arrangement.

In the glass:  Burgundy with brick edges.

On the nose: Poured at room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows shy twigs and dried strawberries.  From the aroma, seems like this will be taut and bright.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact full of branches and dried rose petals, along with black tea (maybe dried tea roses?).  Lively acids, quick but clean finish.

In summary: Overall, rates two stars with a plus for aromatic complexity on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.
