Original tasting and review : This is World Market Pinot Noir Barrel 27, Russian River Valley, Sonoma County, California, 2013, finished at 13.8% alcohol and first sampled two years from vintage date, in September, 2015.

Inspired by this wine: Walking around the auto show, a 1978 Chevy starts up and sputters as it catches the ignition.

In the glass: Medium ruby brick.

On the nose: Poured at room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows aged, slightly dry red fruit.  From the aroma, seems like this will be soft and fragrant.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact seeming a bit tired and oxidized, though showing red currants and acids through the mustiness.  Finishes fast, with the acids cleansing the palate.

In summary: Overall, rates two stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.
