Original tasting and review : This is Amici Cellars Olema Chardonnay, Sonoma County, California, 2012, finished at 14.1% alcohol and first sampled three years from vintage date, in October, 2015.

Inspired by this wine: Stomping through tall meadow grasses, arriving at the picnic table and enjoying crispy grilled cheese sandwiches.

In the glass: Golden hued.

On the nose: Poured at cool room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows soft hay and light creamy fruit.  From the aroma, seems like this will be subtle and dry.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact much creamier, softer, sweeter and aromatic than anticipated.  Pears, apples and light butterscotch come together on the tongue, with hay and lemon in the creamy background.  Soft finish trails slowly.

In summary: Overall, rates three stars with a plus for its languorous finish on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale, making this a definite good value.
