Original tasting and review : This is Nugan Estate Vision Shiraz, Riverina, Australia, 2010, finished at 13.5% alcohol and first sampled five  from vintage date, in October, 2015.  I enjoyed the 2007 vintage of this wine a great deal, so I am looking forward to this return visit.  Interestingly, though, the 2010 vintage is an entire percentage point lower in alcohol than the 2007 version.

Inspired by this wine: A wild fireworks display entirely of black cherry cigars!

In the glass: Deep black magenta, opaque from a half inch in.

On the nose: Poured at room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows sparkling bright bold purple notes.  From the aroma, seems like this will be sweet and poignant.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact bold black cherry with plenty of acidic heft to support the fruit.  Eucalyptus and black currant support the cherry into a long finish.

In summary: Overall, rates three stars with a plus for bold power on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.  Good value.
