Review: *** $ Beringer Cabernet Sauvignon, Argentina, non-vintage = Practically Free, BEST VALUE

Check out today's pricing and retail availability for Beringer Cabernet Sauvignon.

Original tasting and review : This is Beringer Cabernet Sauvignon, Argentina, non-vintage, finished at 13.5% alcohol and first sampled young.  This retails in the super-bargain price zone.

In the glass: Deep rusty mahogany.

On the nose: Poured at room temperature and swirled vigorously, shows soft, fairly generic red tones.    From the aroma, seems like this will be light and easy-going.

On the palate: The primary elements on the palate are in fact sturdier and grittier than anticipated, with a nice black purple, grainy style of inky blackberry flavors.  Some black smoke.  Finishes a bit hot, but full.

In summary: Overall, rates three stars on the five-star Spirit of Wine scale.  Best value at the "practically free" price.
